The ATOS I 3D scanner scans the surface of the digitalized object with a projector and two cameras placed on either side. Afterwards, the acquired images and the the reference points are superimposed on each other, resulting in a virtual model consisting of several thousand to several million triangles. The virtual model can be further processed, shaped, merged with other models, etc... The final data is then ready for exporting into 3D printers or other 3D applications.
